The climate in Delhi has its share of extreme weather, with scorching summers and foggy bleak winters. Visitors from sub zero temperatures won’t mind the refreshing cold from around November to February (average low around 50°F/10°C), but the searing months from around the end of March till June, when the heat is dry and oppressive and mid-day temperatures soar all the way up to 45°C (113° F), make it difficult to get out during the day.
The monsoon season, which lasts from around July to August, sees frequent showers, not overly heavy, but the humidity can sap you of all your energy. September is still warm, but October sees a cooling in temperatures, heralding the start of a comfortable time, climactically, to visit Delhi. December and January sees the city shrouded in thick fog, causing chaos at the airports and on the roads and railways. So if you’re traveling in and out of Delhi at this time, be prepared for delays.
