Also known as the “Principality of the Valleys of Andorra”, the country of Andorra is a tiny country located in the heart of Western Europe. It is actually the sixth smallest country in all of Europe. Andorra’s culture has been highly influenced by both France and Spain, mainly because of the fact that Andorra is situated right in between these two giant countries.

Andorra is one of the few countries in the world where its locals are the minority. More than 60% of the country’s population is composed of immigrants coming from France, Spain and Portugal. This invasion of foreigners to the land is primarily due to the romantic landscapes and sceneries Andorra has to offer. Spring is the best time to take a trip to Andorra where you can enjoy breath taking hiking trails that brings you through bubbling mountain streams and still lakes. During the winter months, the Pyrenees overlooking Andorra becomes a skier’s paradise. Travelers can enjoy a variety of winter sports from skiing to snowboarding. It is no wonder then that Andorra’s main source of income is tourism, with this industry accounting for 80% of the Gross Domestic Product of the country.

One interesting fact about Andorra is the life expectancy of the people living here. Whether it is because of the fresh mountain air or the laid-back lifestyle, Andorra has been recognized to have one of the highest life expectancy in the world. According to the U. S. Census Bureau, the average age of the people living in Andorra is about 85 years old, the second longest life expectancy in the world.
