Overview

Goa is the smallest state of India. The state is predominantly located on the west coast of India, known as Konkan. While on its western coach lays the Arabian Sea. Goa is the hot destination for tourists and visitors looking forward to an enjoyable vacation in India. It is known world over for its beautiful and large beaches and waters sports.

The city is mainly built on the Konkan coast. On the Northern region of Goa, one would see low-leveled mountains of Western Ghats range. Owing to its location, the city faces hot weather replete with intense humidity throughout the year. May is the hottest month with temperature exceeding 35 degree Celsius. The monsoon is the longest season, lasting from late May through the end of the year. Winter is hardly cold spanning from December through January. Predominantly the city faces extensive downpours and thunderstorms throughout the year. It is humid and cooler in comparison to other states of India which makes it for a hot tourist destination as well.

Goa’s solitary airport, Dabolim Airport serves both the domestic and international needs. For local transportation purpose, the roads are ferried by intra-city busses; local busses governed by Kadamba Transport Corporation and rented two-wheelers are also popular.

The best seasons to visit Goa are winters and monsoons. And the most sought-after places are undoubtedly its rich beaches. The beaches in Goa are divided region wise, namely, North Goa beaches and South Goa beaches. Baga and Anjuna beaches are the largest and the most popular beaches in North Goa. They are also famous for organizing yearly activities like carnivals etc.
