Situated on the northernmost part of Germany, the state of Schleswig-Holstein is one of the sixteen federal states that comprise the country. The state shares its borders the country of Denmark on the north, the North Sea to the west, the Baltic Sea to the east and the states of Lower Saxony, Mecklenburg-Vorpommem and Hamburg on the south.

The state of Schleswig-Holstein lies in along the base of the Jutland Peninsula. Its location in between two seas, the state of Schleswig-Holstein is lined with numerous bays, fjords and cliff lines. This is also the reason why the state has become a favorite tourist destination from people from all parts of the world. Its strategic location has made the state of Schleswig-Holstein home to some of the most pristine beaches in this side of the world.

The state is home to over 200 different museums which are open to the public where tourists and locals alike can capture a glimpse of each of the pieces that make up the magnificent puzzle of the cultural and historical heritage of the state.

Held in the state’s capital of Schleswig-Holstein, it is considered as the largest summer festival held in all of Europe.
