The lovely, perfectly preserved Orvieto is rich in religious and archeological treasures. Its main attraction is the colorful cathedral, with a stunning gold facade that holds some beautiful frescoes. In summer the historical buildings throughout Orvieto feature a series of concerts during the famous Jazz festival.
Umbria has unfairly been ignored at the expense of Tuscany over the border but has many attractive towns with a unique character, beautiful scenery and great cultural importance that are worth a visit.
