Hobart nestles at the base of Mount Wellington, with a long winding road leading to its summit, from where there are sweeping views of the city. Follow one of the many hiking and mountain biking trails that traverse the mountain through its lush rainforests and beneath the soaring dolerite pillars of the Organ Pipes.

Be sure to wander around the old sandstone warehouses that line the waterfront district of Salamanca. The historic streets of Battery Point lie just behind, with cute cottages dating back to the early 19th century and unique boutiques to explore.

No visit to Hobart is complete without venturing into the underground galleries of the Museum of Old and New Art, set within the vineyards of Moorilla Estate. Or discover the local history in the engaging exhibitions of the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery.
