How to Get Around Northeast

Getting in: Puerto Iguazu airport has flights from Buenos Aires in under two hours, and Posadas, Corrientes and Resistencia also have services. Buses from Buenos Aires to Iguazu take around eighteen hours.

At Iguazu: local buses run from Puerto Iguazu to the park gate every twenty minutes, and inside the park a narrow-gauge train links the circuits. No car is needed.

To the Brazilian side: a short bus or taxi across the bridge. Check visa requirements for Brazil in advance, as they vary by nationality and this catches people out.

To Ibera: Colonia Carlos Pellegrini is reached by a long unpaved road from Mercedes, roughly three hours and impassable after heavy rain; the other gateways vary. Most lodges arrange transfers, which is the sensible option.
