How to Get Around Cambodia

Domestic flights connect Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Sihanoukville quickly, and are worth considering over the longer bus journeys between them given road conditions on some routes.

Long-distance buses are the standard, affordable way to travel between Cambodia's main cities, with more comfortable VIP services available on popular routes. Boats also connect Siem Reap and Phnom Penh via the Tonlé Sap during high water, a scenic if slower alternative.

Within cities and around Angkor specifically, tuk-tuks and remork (motorized rickshaws) are the standard way to get around -- hiring one with a driver for a full day at the temples is the typical, practical approach rather than moving between sites independently.
