Keep a little mystery in your trip planning: Explorer Picture Mode shows a stylized version of every place instead of the real photo, so you can go by the description and reviews first and picture it your own way -- reveal the real photo any time by flipping the switch off, or just for one place at a time from its own page.

Guatemala Climate Patterns

Changed

Guatemala's tropical location means temperature depends far more on elevation than season -- the highlands stay mild to cool year-round, often called the "land of eternal spring," while the lowlands stay consistently hot and humid.

Most of the country follows a wet/dry pattern -- a dry season roughly November to April and a rainy season the rest of the year.

Petén and the Caribbean coast see the country's highest humidity and rainfall overall.
