History
The hotel is housed in the Hotel-Dieu de Marseille building, which was first a city's primary hospital for 800 hundred years, that was created in 1188.
It opened as a hotel in 2013, as part of the InterContinental hotel chain. The building itself is registered as a national monument.
InterContinental Marseille was awarded as the "Best Refurbished Building".
Architecture
The hotel's design is similar to any other buildings in Marseille, which is French Baroque architecture, with a hint of Neoclassicism.

InterContinental Marseille offers 172 rooms and 22 suites. There are two restaurants: "Les Fenetres Braserrie" and "Alcyone Restaurant", which holds one Micheline Star. The prices in Alcyone Restaurant for a set meal are around 139 euros.
