Alassio is a village on the western cost of Liguria.
A long promenade, shaded by palm and pine trees, runs along the fabulous beach of Alassio. It is a perfect place to relax and cool off after a day in the sun or to taste some delicious fish specialties. Picturesque and lively is the ancient alley stretching across its downtown, called the “Budello.” Shopping, among lofty palaces and rustic fishermen houses, is one of the favorite activities of many visitors here. Alassio’s “Muretto" (wall) is considered one of the most famous monuments of the town. The artist Mario Berrino created the wall in the 1960s. It consists of 550 plates signed by celebrities who visited Alassio through the years, among them Ernest Hemingway and Charlie Chaplin.
