Ibiza is located in
Spain and is an island in the
Balearic Islands. It is called as the White Island, for its architecture. The major cities in Ibiza are Santa Eularia des Riu, Sant Antoni de Portmany, and Ibiza Town. The official Catalan name of the place is Eivissa and the official languages are Catalan and Spanish.
The climate is Mediterranean type with mild winters and summers. Major portions of Ibiza have been registered by the United Nations as U.N. World Heritage Sites. These sites are protected from commercialization and development.
The place is becoming increasingly popular among tourists. The summer club parties at various popular clubs, beaches, and West End party district are the major destinations. The clubs start in the afternoon and continue until dawn. The famous beaches here are the Cala Talamaca and Cala Llonga. There are many beautiful churches, caves with prehistoric paintings, and typical Mediterranean villages. There are hilly regions with cliffs and small bays. The hill slopes are terraced for agricultural purposes. Almonds, apricots, and dried figs are exported to various places. Salt is also a major export product here.
Ibiza is famous for the cultural sites and beautiful landscapes. The island is usually venue to various photographic and film shootings. Two exciting monuments are the God’s Finger and The Egg.
Reaching Ibiza is easy as it is served by an airport, roadways, and water transport facilities. The airline charges to the place are cheap and there are many hotels and resorts where one can plan their accommodation. Even hiring cars and taxis are very much convenient.
