How to Get Around Cogne

Cogne is one road in and one road out, and walkable once you arrive.

The village is crossed on foot in ten minutes.

The hamlets — Lillaz, Cretaz, Epinel, Gimillan — are within half an hour on foot or a few minutes by local bus.

Valnontey is a flat two-kilometre walk or a short shuttle ride and is partly closed to private cars in season.

Buses run to Aosta several times a day, taking about an hour.

Parking in the village is limited and paid in season.

A car gets you here and is then largely useless, which is the point.

The access road climbs steeply from the main valley and can close in heavy snow.
