Parma Climate Patterns
Parma has the humid continental climate of the Po basin. Summers are hot and muggy, regularly in the low to mid thirties Celsius, with high humidity and thunderstorms over the Apennines in the afternoon.
Winters are cold and damp, generally between minus one and seven degrees, with frequent frost and persistent fog. Snow falls most years without lasting.
Air quality is the practical issue rather than temperature: the Po valley traps pollutants during still winter weather, and readings can be poor for days at a time. The hills behind the city are the escape, and they are half an hour away.
