Ravenna Climate Patterns
Ravenna has a humid subtropical climate, slightly tempered by the Adriatic a few kilometres away. Summers are hot and humid, usually in the low thirties Celsius; winters are cold and damp, generally between one and eight degrees, with fog and occasional snow.
Spring and autumn are mild and are the best time to be here. Rain is spread through the year with peaks in autumn.
Two practical notes. The wetlands and pine forests mean mosquitoes are a real feature of summer evenings, particularly near the coast and the delta. And the monuments are mostly dim interiors, which makes Ravenna a genuinely good wet-weather destination — the mosaics are lit and unaffected by what the sky is doing.
