La Morra Events

The vineyard year

La Morra has 2,668 residents and does not run a large festival programme. Its calendar is agricultural, and from the terrace you can watch it happen across the whole amphitheatre.

  • Winter — pruning, and the season when the fog sits below the village and the view is at its most dramatic. Cellars receive by appointment; some restaurants close.
  • Spring — bud-break, when growers have time and a cellar visit becomes a conversation.
  • September — the vendemmia, visible from the terrace across hundreds of hectares at once. The most interesting month to be here and the hardest for appointments.
  • Late autumn — the new vintage into barrel, and the fog.

What to do rather than attend

Since there is no large event calendar, the things worth planning around are these:

  • The Cantina Comunale — taste across the village's producers in one room, then arrange a cellar visit with whoever you preferred.
  • The Cappella del Barolo at Brunate, free to see from outside, and best in the low light of early morning or late afternoon when the painted exterior is strongest.
  • The Sentiero del Barolo, which starts in the village. Walking one way to Barolo and eating lunch there is the best single day out in the zone, and it removes the driving problem.

What happens nearby, and fills the village

  • The Alba International White Truffle Fair, 10 October to 6 December 2026 in its 96th edition, pushes visitors up here. Book meals in that window.
  • The World White Truffle Auction is at the castle of Grinzane Cavour, for charity.
  • Cheese, Slow Food's biennial cheese festival, is at Bra.

Verified against Fiera Internazionale del Tartufo Bianco d'Alba, October 2026.
