Lido di Jesolo Culture

Lido di Jesolo has the culture of a resort, which is to say a calendar rather than a tradition: the season opens, the strip fills, and it closes again. The evening passeggiata along the pedestrian street is the genuine daily ritual, and it is a Central European crowd as much as an Italian one.

The older culture is a few kilometres inland and most visitors never see it. The medieval remains of Equilio form the Antiche Mura archaeological site north of Jesolo's old town, and they are actively studied by researchers from the University of Venice Ca' Foscari — a working excavation rather than a presented ruin.
