Partita a Scacchi a Personaggi Viventi, the second weekend of September in even-numbered years, is the event the town is known for. Tickets go on sale months ahead and sell out.

The Mostra dei Ciliegi and the cherry markets run through late May and June, and are the town at its most ordinary and most pleasant.

In autumn the chestnut and mushroom sagre in the villages up toward the plateau are local affairs.

Christmas markets fill the square in December, small but well done.
