Summertime is around the corner, and Pippy Park, St. John's, Newfoundland, needs to be on the "A" list of unique and wonderful places to plan on spending a few days' vacation this summer. Situated on 3400 acres, it incorporates several campuses, a golf course, a very popular environmental educational center, and all the amenities that one would expect to find in a beautiful city park.

Pippy Park is a striking urban recreational area, with much to do – providing busy, relaxing, and interesting days, such as:

1. For those who truly love the outdoors, there are 216 full and un-serviced camping sites on a gorgeous setting – perfect for hiking, biking, and walking along the scenic trails with this amazing landscape diversity. Wander through forests, next to rivers, around the wetlands, and just indulge the senses.

2. Even the golfers can be completely happy and content here with the 27-hole public golf course where golfing is an incredible combination with the view of the icebergs and whales while driving, chipping, and putting around this outstanding course.

3. The nature-lover will be quite content with the flora and fauna found around this park. Songbirds, muskrats, moose, red fox, mink and a variety of birds are abundant in this magnificent place.

4. The largest ice tank for research and development in ocean technologies provides a fascinating visit to the National Research Council Institute for Ocean Technology.
