The Mashantucket area of
Connecticut is derived from the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, which is one of the original tribes that inhabited the area in the 1600s. It covers an area of over 250 square miles, and the original English people had a major conflict that was called the Pequot War that lasted two years from 1636 until 1638. This is a beautiful area in Connecticut that has some great scenery and historic sites.
