Glastonbury Festival

Wednesday 23 to Sunday 27 June 2027 at Worthy Farm in Somerset: about 200,000 people, more than 100 stages, £408 a ticket plus postage, on sale 9am on 4 October 2026 with a £100 deposit, registration required for everyone 13 and over; the fallow-year rhythm means no festival in 2026.

Notting Hill Carnival

29–30 August 2027, the August bank holiday weekend in west London: Europe's largest street festival, around two million people, free on both days, Sunday for families, with a ticketed event on 28 August.

RHS Chelsea Flower Show

18–22 May 2027 in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea: members' days Tuesday and Wednesday, public days Thursday to Saturday, closing 5.30pm on the last day; the largest gardening show in the world, held there since 1912.

TCS London Marathon

Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 April 2027, run over two days for the first time with 100,000 runners, from Greenwich Park to The Mall; the race where the two-hour barrier fell in 2026.

Cheltenham Festival

Tuesday 16 to Friday 19 March 2027 at Cheltenham Racecourse: four days of National Hunt racing, the Gold Cup on the Friday, the Irish in town and the "Cheltenham roar" at the first off.

Wimbledon

Two weeks from late June or early July on the All England Club's grass, the oldest tennis tournament in the world (since 1877): 2027 dates not stated because the club's dates page is JavaScript; expect the last week of June and the first of July.

Bonfire Night

5 November, fireworks and bonfires nationwide for the Gunpowder Plot of 1605, at their most theatrical in the Lewes Bonfire, held since 1679; Ottery St Mary runs the streets with burning tar barrels.

Cooper's Hill Cheese-Rolling

The spring bank holiday (31 May 2027) at Brockworth in Gloucestershire: a Double Gloucester rolled down a one-in-two slope and chased since at least 1836.
