The Trapp Family Lodge is a three-and-a-half star resort situated in Vermont, covering an area of 2,400 acre. The lodge is owned and controlled by Sam von Trapp and his father Johannes von Trapp. The lodge initially came into existence in 1950 which constituted twenty seven rooms. This lodge was ruined in a fire accident on December 20, 1980. This lodge was re-opened in 1983 with a consistency of 93 rooms. By this time, 32 family members held the shares of lodge which were bought by Johannes von Trapp in 1994 and made an addition of 23 rooms and 100 guesthouses.
The lodge is a wonderful place to stay if you have planned to spend your vacations in Vermont. The lodge offers numerous attractive facilities that can add grooming to your vacations. These services include a mountain biking trail, gym, tennis courts, and toboggan rides. Also, the lodge constitutes an integrated restaurant, and way in to skiing, and maple sugaring. You can also avail the facility of cross-country skiing trails at the lodge. At present, the lodge includes 45 km of groomed trails and around 100km of un-groomed trails in total.
The Lodge is perfect for someone who is outdoor and nature enthusiast. The Lodge provides several daily activities for adults as well as kids. Also, a special documentary film show about Maria von Trapp's last visit to her homeland is arranged for those interested in the history of the lodge. The icing on the cake is the weekly show on every Thursday night of 'The Sound of Music.'
