Keep a little mystery in your trip planning: Explorer Picture Mode shows a stylized version of every place instead of the real photo, so you can go by the description and reviews first and picture it your own way -- reveal the real photo any time by flipping the switch off, or just for one place at a time from its own page.

Honduras Climate Patterns

Changed

Honduras has a tropical climate overall, though it varies meaningfully by region and elevation. The interior highlands, including Tegucigalpa and Copán, stay notably cooler and more temperate than the coasts thanks to elevation, with a clear dry season (November-April) and wet season (May-October).

The Caribbean coast and Bay Islands stay warm and humid year-round, with somewhat less seasonal variation than the interior, though hurricane season (June-November) brings the risk of tropical storms, most acute from September through November.

The Pacific side, around the Gulf of Fonseca, follows a similar wet/dry pattern to the interior highlands but with hotter, more consistent lowland heat throughout the year.
