Keep a little mystery in your trip planning: Explorer Picture Mode shows a stylized version of every place instead of the real photo, so you can go by the description and reviews first and picture it your own way -- reveal the real photo any time by flipping the switch off, or just for one place at a time from its own page.

Honduras
Practical Information
Domestic flights connect Tegucigalpa or San Pedro Sula with Roatán and Utila quickly -- often the preferred way to reach the Bay Islands given how much longer the ferry-plus-overland alternative takes.
A ferry service also connects La Ceiba, on the mainland Caribbean coast, with Roatán and Utila -- slower than flying but considerably cheaper. Long-distance buses connect the mainland's major cities and Copán, with more comfortable "executive" services available on popular routes.
Renting a car offers flexibility for exploring the mainland independently, though most visitors rely on organized shuttles or domestic flights given the safety and time considerations of independent overland travel in Honduras specifically.
Honduras has a higher crime rate than many of its Central American neighbors, and it's worth taking real, specific precautions -- though the country's established tourist areas (the Bay Islands, Copán, and organized transport between them) see far less of the violent crime associated with the mainland's larger cities.
