Last updated on October 19, 2026The temple
A red-sandstone façade rises directly from the Old Delhi street, with pointed openings, projecting balconies and a cluster of pale-tipped spires above the roofline. The building is compact compared with the Red Fort opposite.
Inside, rooms narrow around devotional images and offerings rather than opening into one vast hall. Repeated additions make the plan feel layered. Behind the temple, a separate mid-twentieth-century building houses the bird hospital and its treatment spaces.
