Kartavya Path is a broad east–west avenue rather than a conventional enclosed attraction. At the west, Rashtrapati Bhavan rises beyond Vijay Chowk and the paired Secretariat buildings. The roadway then descends between rectangular lawns, canals, bridges and parallel walks.
Looking east, India Gate holds the horizon. Looking west, the slope and government buildings make the same space feel more formal and enclosed. New paving, lighting and underpasses sit low enough that the historic vista remains dominant.
