Last updated on October 19, 2026The mausoleum
A high entrance gate looks along a straight water axis to the mausoleum at the centre of a square garden. The tomb rises on a broad platform as a sandstone mass articulated by pale marble panels, arched recesses and four corner towers.
A large pale dome swells above the central chamber. Around it, the garden is divided into four quarters by channels and paths. Smaller pavilions are built into the enclosing walls, giving each edge an architectural destination.
Inside the tomb, stucco decoration and arched chambers replace the long exterior view with a compact, vertically focused space.
