Agra Events

Taj Mahotsav is an annual ten-day event normally organised in February at Shilpgram near the Taj Mahal. Crafts, regional food, folk performance, ghazal and poetry programmes form its core. Confirm the current dates and programme with the organiser.

Ram Barat takes place before Dussehra as part of Agra's Ramleela cycle. The marriage procession of Ram travels through city streets toward a temporary Janakpuri venue. The route and host district change, so old maps are unreliable.

Kailash Fair is associated with Kailash Temple outside the centre and normally falls in August or September. It is a devotional gathering rather than a tourism display; road conditions and crowd arrangements may change around it.

Bateshwar Fair belongs to a Yamuna-side temple town about 70 kilometres from Agra. It normally takes place in October or November and includes religious bathing and a livestock fair. Plan it as a district excursion.

Verified against District Agra, October 2026.
