Best destinations by month

January is cool, with official Agra normals of 7.4–22.2°C. Fog can disrupt early road and rail plans, while the main monuments remain busy. Keep arrival morning flexible.

February and March offer the strongest overall balance. February brings mild days and Taj Mahotsav; March becomes warmer but remains far easier than late spring for long outdoor visits.

April through June is very hot. The normal daily maximum reaches 41.9°C in May and 41.1°C in June. Put exposed monuments in the earliest hours and treat an official heat alert as a reason to shorten the day.

July through September is the monsoon period. July has the highest normal monthly rainfall at 245.8 mm. Cloud and rain may soften the heat, but humidity and surface-water disruption complicate road journeys.

October and November return to drier sightseeing weather. November is the more comfortable month, with a normal range of 13.2–29.2°C. Demand builds as conditions improve.

December is cool and mainly dry. Morning fog and changing air quality can affect views and transport, so avoid making one sunrise slot the only purpose of the trip.
