How to Get Around Courmayeur

Courmayeur is compact and the mountain around it is deliberately restricted.

The village is crossed on foot in ten minutes and its centre is pedestrian.

Val Ferret and Val Veny are closed to private cars in high season and served by shuttle buses, which is the sensible way in even when they are open.

Buses run down the valley to Aosta roughly hourly and through the tunnel to Chamonix several times a day.

The Skyway leaves from Entrèves, a few minutes from the village by bus.

There is no railway; the line ends at Pré-Saint-Didier, five kilometres away, and is currently a bus connection.

A car is a liability in season, when parking is scarce and the valleys are shut to it.
