Sorrento Climate Patterns

Sorrento has a Mediterranean climate moderated by the sea on three sides. Summer highs sit in the high twenties to low thirties Celsius, with humidity but usually a breeze on the cliff. Rain between June and August is uncommon.

Winter is mild by northern European standards — daytime temperatures generally between eight and fifteen degrees — and wet, with most of the year’s rain falling from October to March. Frost is rare and snow effectively unknown at sea level, though Monte Faito behind the town can get it.

The practical climate issue is not temperature. Many hotels, restaurants and boat services close from roughly November to March, so a warm winter day can still find the town largely shut.
