Learn about Greve in Chianti

Greve, one of Chianti’s main villages and the first town to come across from Florence, oozes history. From the monastery in the old quarter to its market where since centuries traders have been selling their wares. The triangular square, Piazza Matteotti, is the center of the village, featuring small shops, galleries, and restaurants. Take a seat at one of the little bars and watch the town’s life go by. Visit "Le Cantine di Greve” and the wine museum (“Museo del Vino”) to learn more about the history of Chianti’s wine culture. Walk or drive up (1 mile) to the old castle of Montefioralle, a medieval village nearby, for some historical sightseeing. On your way up, you will be rewarded with some great panoramic views.
