Radda in Chianti Events

Radda shares most of its calendar with its neighbours, which is a relic of the League. From June to August the Chianti Festival brings theatre, music and dance to Radda, Castelnuovo Berardenga, Castellina in Chianti and Gaiole in Chianti — the old terzieri, still programming together.

In November comes Chianti d'Autunno, a full calendar of tastings, conventions, exhibitions, displays and markets across all eight comuni of the Chianti Classico.

Radda's own dates are in May and late August. Radda nel Bicchiere in May is a tasting event; the Festa del Perdono falls in late August.

And there is a lot of walking and riding. The Chianti Ultra Trail runs in spring — three walks of 15, 42 and 73 kilometres, all starting from Radda and winding through the vineyards. The permanent route of the Eroica follows the white roads from the Chianti into the Crete Senesi and the Val d'Orcia.

The Casa Chianti Classico runs its own programme in the convent — courses on wine and on cooking, by booking — and can arrange extraordinary openings for events. Dates move; confirm before building a trip around one.
