Architecture

The church is a straightforward eighteenth-century rebuilding: a single wide nave with side altars, plain plastered walls, and a restrained facade. It makes no architectural claims and is not the reason to come.

The campanile is the older element, a brick tower surviving from the medieval Dominican church.

The setting is the building's real architectural quality: it stands alone on a small island east of the Vena, reached by a bridge, with water on every side and none of the town's density around it.

Inside, the interest is in the paintings rather than the fabric -- the Carpaccio, a crucifix of some age, and altarpieces of the Venetian school.
