Keep a little mystery in your trip planning: flip this switch on and Explorer Picture Mode shows a stylized version of every place instead of the real photo, so you can go by the description and reviews first and picture it your own way -- turn it off again any time, or reveal the real photo for just one place at a time from its own page.

Montego Bay

Learn about Montego Bay

A concise introduction to Montego Bay, its geography, history and culture.

Introduction

Changed
Montego Bay is the second largest and modern city of Jamaica. It is the capital of Jamaican tourism and market town. Falmouth is a beautiful harbor resort found about 42km east of the city from where you can visit Rafters Village for rafting and visit the fascinating crocodile farm called Jamaica Swamp Safaris.

Negril is another tourist resort which boasts of having the longest beaches of the country offering all the water sports you would expect. It is also famous for the Throne Room, a popular dive site. Other dive sites of Jamaica are Ricky’s Reef and the Kathryn wreck.

You can take a look at the ‘real Jamaica’ a little way along the coast in the many fishing villages you find here; while some of the best Caribbean golf courses are also found in Jamaica.
