Located where the St. Lawrence and St. Maurice Rivers meet is Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Canada and was originally settled by the Algonquins until the explorer Champlain decided in 1634 that it was a perfect place for a settlement. It is home to various outdoors sporting activities as well as some historical structures in the town itself. It is also home to the Trois-Rivières Universite du Quebec, which has a well know medical school for chiropractors and podiatrists.

1. The FestiVoix de Trois-Rivières is a musical celebration that is held from the end of June through July 4th each summer that provides 15 stages for a variety of musical stars. Music includes jazz, pop, rock, music of France, and even several choirs.

2. Trois-Rivieres seems to be a town famous for their festivals since they also host the Festival International Danse Encore, the MetalFest de Trois-Rivieres, and the Festival International de la Poésie each year.

3. Car racing is one of the most popular sports in this area, and they host several races including Formula cars, NASCAR, and the LeMans races.

4. Fishing is also a major sport that is popular in the joining rivers.

5. The Forges du Saint-Maurice is a famous sites and considered to be the origin of iron production of the region; they were the most technically advanced forge for over 100 years.
