Keep a little mystery in your trip planning: Explorer Picture Mode shows a stylized version of every place instead of the real photo, so you can go by the description and reviews first and picture it your own way -- reveal the real photo any time by flipping the switch off, or just for one place at a time from its own page.

Argentina Climate Patterns

Changed

Argentina's enormous north-south length gives it nearly every climate zone in one country. The Northeast, including Iguazu Falls, is subtropical, while the central Pampas around Buenos Aires have a temperate climate with clear seasons.

The Andean Northwest is high and arid, while Cuyo (Mendoza) has a dry, semi-desert climate that, combined with irrigation from Andean snowmelt, makes it ideal wine country.

Patagonia, in the far south, is cool to cold year-round and famously windy, with weather that can shift dramatically within a single day.
