Keep a little mystery in your trip planning: flip this switch on and Explorer Picture Mode shows a stylized version of every place instead of the real photo, so you can go by the description and reviews first and picture it your own way -- turn it off again any time, or reveal the real photo for just one place at a time from its own page.

Jerez de la Frontera

Learn about Jerez de la Frontera

A concise introduction to Jerez de la Frontera, its geography, history and culture.

Introduction

Changed

Flamenco, horses, and sherry. These are the keywords of the town of Jerez.

Jerez is the birthplace of flamenco dance (whose fame is shared with Seville). Today this dance still makes an important part of the daily life of the inhabitants of this beautiful city. Just like sherry. There are some famous sherry houses in the city - such as Tio Pepe and Sandeman that you can visit and where you can do a tasting.

Less visible is the "Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art" though it has a big name! You can visit this school where some of the best horses and riders perform an equestrian ballet.
