Discover Bath-house of Haseki Hürrem Sultan

The bath-house is a fine example of Sinan's work at a smaller, more intimate scale than his major mosque commissions — a symmetrical double hammam with matching sections for men and women, each following the classical Ottoman bath sequence of a cool entrance hall, a warm intermediate room, and a hot central chamber beneath a domed ceiling pierced with small star-shaped skylights.

Built from cut stone with restrained, elegant proportions rather than the heavy ornamentation of the era's grandest religious buildings, the hammam reflects Sinan's characteristic attention to structural clarity and the practical choreography of the bathing ritual itself.
