San Diego Events

Winter and spring

Lunar New Year programmes, neighbourhood cultural events, spring flowers and Chicano Park Day give the first part of the year a strong community calendar. Dates and locations change; use organiser and city listings rather than an undated roundup.

Summer

San Diego Pride and Comic-Con create major July demand in Hillcrest and around the convention centre. Comic-Con 2027 is scheduled for 22–25 July, with Preview Night on 21 July. Book only after confirming badges and transport, because rooms and central services tighten sharply.

Autumn

Street fairs, food events and cultural programmes continue after the beach peak. Weather can be excellent, but hot dry wind events sometimes disrupt outdoor plans. Check event closures and emergency guidance together.

December

Balboa Park December Nights is a large free civic festival with intense short-term crowding. The city lists the 2026 edition for 4–5 December. Use event transport advice and do not assume normal park access or parking.
