Miami Events

Miami's event calendar is strongest when it reflects the city's own languages and cultural institutions. Miami Film Festival presents a major spring programme and a fall showcase, with an emphasis that includes international and Ibero-American cinema. Miami Book Fair fills part of Downtown each November with author events and programmes in English, Spanish and Haitian Creole.

Large art, music, sport and food events also reshape particular districts. Some of the most famous December art activity takes place in the separate City of Miami Beach, while mainland museums, galleries and neighbourhood venues run parallel programmes.

Do not plan from an annual label alone. Dates, venues and admission change, and an event in the metropolitan area may be far from a Miami hotel. Check the organiser's current programme, map the exact venue and reserve transport or dining early when a major weekend overlaps your stay.
