Best destinations by month

December through April gives the most comfortable balance for walking, gardens and open-air evenings. January and February have the lowest normal temperatures at Miami International Airport, while spring gradually becomes warmer and wetter.

May through October is hot, humid and much wetter. Afternoon storms can be intense and outdoor plans need shade, water and flexibility. Atlantic hurricane season runs from June through November; it is a risk window, not a forecast that every trip will be disrupted.

November is transitional and often rewarding as rainfall falls and the cultural calendar strengthens. Major art, music, sport and festival dates can raise hotel prices sharply on particular weeks. Always check the event calendar, official weather warnings and any tropical system before committing to non-refundable arrangements.
