Mysore Palace is the essential first visit. Its 1897–1912 rebuilding, ceremonial halls, stained glass, tiles, painting and shrines deserve more than an exterior photograph. The palace and district sites publish access information, but hours, fees, illumination and interior photography rules should be checked again.
Devaraja Market, the clock towers, Town Hall and central circles extend the visit into a working civic core. Jaganmohan Palace holds an important art collection in a separate former palace. St Philomena's Cathedral, Lalitha Mahal and the Rail Museum add different nineteenth- and twentieth-century layers.
Chamundi Hill is a temple and pilgrimage landscape above the city. Go for Chamundeshwari Temple, older Mahabaleshwara associations, Nandi, views and ritual geography—not simply a lookout. Crowds and road access change around festivals.
Mysuru Zoo and the adjoining Karanji Lake form one managed visitor cluster; Kukkarahalli Lake belongs to the university landscape. Brindavan Gardens, Srirangapatna, Ranganathittu and Somanathapura are separate regional outings, not city-centre attractions.
