Mysuru Events
Mysuru Dasara runs for ten days around Navaratri and Vijayadashami, usually in September or October. The Mysuru District Administration publishes the official programme, which combines palace ritual, cultural stages, exhibition, food, sport and the final procession from Mysore Palace toward Bannimantap. Check its current dates, tickets, route and traffic controls.
Mysore Palace illumination and sound-and-light programmes use schedules set by the palace and government. Confirm the current language, day, time and admission directly rather than trusting an old listing.
Chamundeshwari observances bring pilgrimage pressure to Chamundi Hill on dates set by the religious calendar. Follow temple and Mysuru Police access controls before sightseeing.
University of Mysore, music, theatre and craft programmes occur through several institutions rather than one permanent city calendar. Ask the named venue whether the programme is public and whether advance registration is required.
During the Dasara procession, stand behind barriers, keep the controlled route open, protect hearing and hydration, and avoid flash or drones where they interfere with worship, elephants, performers or security.
