Learn about Noli

Noli is an attractive small resort, for its sandy beaches and promenade decorated with palm trees. It is one of the few historic villages along the Ligurian coast, where fishing boats still operate; many of them are tied up at the top of the beach.

Noli was during the Middle Ages one of the five maritime republics (with Genoa, Pisa, Venice, and Amalfi). The village still has several medieval towers and gateways that enhance the authentic Italian ambiance in the city center. As you walk in the cobblestones streets of Noli, you can catch a glimpse of the castle that looks over the town and the ancient defensive walls that come down the hillside to reach almost the sea.
