Palazzo Sturm

Palazzo Sturm stands on the bluff above the Brenta, an eighteenth-century town house built into the cliff so that it is two storeys from the street and five from the river. It holds Bassano's ceramics collection and the Remondini print museum -- the two crafts that made the town's name before grappa did.

The civic museum ticket funds a small municipal collection with limited other support, and the ceramics holdings in particular are the record of a local craft still practised in the town.

Standard museum rules: no flash, and bags to the cloakroom.

Ticketed, and covered by the combined civic museum ticket that also includes the Museo Civico -- worth buying if you intend to see both. Museum hours, generally closed Mondays.

Five minutes' walk from the bridge, on the river side of the old town.
