Palazzo Sturm Site Features

The building's interest is its section rather than its facade. It is entered at street level from the town, but the ground falls away so sharply behind that the river front runs five storeys down the cliff -- a fact invisible from the front door and startling from the bridge.

Inside, several rooms keep their eighteenth-century stucco and fresco decoration, in the light Venetian rococo manner of the period.

From the river side and from the Ponte degli Alpini, the palace reads as part of the cliff itself, which is how most visitors first see it without knowing what it is.
