Villa dei Cedri

Villa dei Cedri is a nineteenth-century villa in a park of old cedars at the edge of Valdobbiadene, now owned by the town. It is the one piece of formal architecture in a place otherwise defined by farm buildings and vineyards, and its park is where the town goes to sit down.

This is a municipal park serving a small town, not a visitor attraction, and is used as such. The mature trees are the asset; stay off their root zones.

Events here are run by local associations, and attending one puts money into the town rather than into the wine trade on the hill.

The park is free and open daily. The villa itself opens for exhibitions and events rather than on fixed hours -- worth checking the town's calendar if you want to get inside.

A few minutes' walk from Valdobbiadene's main square, on the edge of the built-up area.
