Architecture

Changed

The villa is a restrained nineteenth-century country house rather than a Palladian one -- symmetrical, stuccoed, with a modest central pediment. It is worth seeing as a contrast: everything else built in this district is either farm structure or vineyard terrace.

The park is the better half. Mature cedars of Lebanon and other specimen trees are laid out in the informal English manner that was fashionable when the house was built, on ground that slopes gently toward the valley.
