Villa dei Cedri

The villa is a restrained nineteenth-century country house rather than a Palladian one -- symmetrical, stuccoed, with a modest central pediment. It is worth seeing as a contrast: everything else built in this district is either farm structure or vineyard terrace.
The park is the better half. Mature cedars of Lebanon and other specimen trees are laid out in the informal English manner that was fashionable when the house was built, on ground that slopes gently toward the valley.
Site Features
The cedars
The mature trees the villa is named for, and the largest in the town.
The public park
Free, open and genuinely used by residents rather than visitors.
Wine events
The villa hosts tastings and the spring showcase, when the interior opens.
A contrast to the hills
The one formal building in a district otherwise made of farm huts and terraced vineyards.
