From Interstate 5 highway, visitors traveling to the city of Valencia, California, would know that they have finally arrived as they are greeted by the view of Six Flags Magic Mountain, one of the most popular amusement parks in the city. Opened to the public in 1971, the amusement park was simply known back then as Magic Mountain. The name Six Flags Magic Mountain was only used back in 1980 after the park was purchased by Six Flags from Newhall Land and Farming Company the year before. Six Flags Magic Mountain offers visitors a number of different rides and attractions that suite any age group. Six Flags Magic Mountain is home to over 16 different rollercoaster rides, each guaranteeing a different sense of thrill and rush for all adrenaline junkies out there. There are also a wide range of different rides for the children and even adventure rides that can be enjoyed by the entire family. Aside from the adrenalin gushing rides, Six Flags Magic Mountain also offers a variety of different events held all year round. At certain times of the year, the entire amusement park carries the theme of a particular holiday. One of which is the Fright Night Festival held during the entire month of October in celebration of Halloween. For the entire month, Six Flag Magic Mountain is transformed into a ghoulish playground with concerts, heart-stopping haunted houses, great street entertainment and even a trick-or-treat trail for the young and young at heart sponsored by Snickers.
